Upper Body Suit

Soldiers carry up to 50% of their body weight on a backpack. A wearable upper body suit is designed to assist in human load carriage. The two functions of the suit are: (i) load distribution between the shoulders and the waist, and (ii) reduction of the dynamic load on the waist during walking. Physiological measurements, including kinematics, muscle EMGs, oxygen consumption, are performed during human walking.
