Jiyeon Kang successfully defended her Ph.D. thesis titled “Robotic Functional Gait Rehabilitation with the Tethered Pelvic Assist Device (TPAD)”

Jiyeon Kang successfully defended her Ph.D. thesis titled “Robotic Functional Gait Rehabilitation with the Tethered Pelvic Assist Device (TPAD)” on Nov 15th, 2017.

Since 2012, Dr. Jiyeon Kang has worked on a variety of different projects in the lab. Her PhD was focused on the development of the A-TPAD and its control. She has demonstrated the abilities of the TPAD with healthy individuals as well as children with Cerebral Palsy. Among these was a study where children with Cerebral Palsy were trained in order to strengthen their muscles. Dr. Kang’s work has demonstrated the efficacy of the A-TPAD and has formed a strong basis for the future applications of the cable driven system. We thank Dr. Kang for her contributions and her dedication to the ROAR lab, and wish her luck in all her endeavors.
