Xin Jin - a new PhD graduate from the ROAR Lab

Xin Jin successfully defended his Ph.D. thesis entitled “A Novel Design of a Cable-driven Leg Exoskeleton (C-ALEX) and Gait Training with Human Subjects” on Oct 25th, 2017.

Xin joined the lab in 2011 and his research focused on cable-driven exoskeletons for rehabilitation, including CAREX for the arm and C-ALEX for the legs. CAREX was tested on healthy and stroke patients. In his PhD work, Dr. Jin  demonstrated that C-ALEX can be used to retrain gait of healthy subjects, similar to rigid linked exoskeletons, such as ALEX, ALEX II, ALEX III. C-ALEX  is currently being evaluated on stroke patients with promising results. We thank Xin for his contributions to the ROAR lab and wish him all the best in the future.

Xin will be joining the Avitas Systems (GE Venture).
